Sandy Shuojia Chen
About Me
I am Sandy Chen, an award-winning filmmaker in North Hollywood.

I'm passionate about filmmaking and I firmly believe that filmmakers can help make the world a better place.

My films have been recognized by the judges of 24 film festivals from 11 countries, participated in 9 screenings in 4 countries, won 22 international awards, and been nominated by 18 film festivals.
I am very good at communicating, planning, scheduling, resolving calendaring conflicts, and taking notes. I am a flexible and detail-oriented team player who can juggle multiple and diverse responsibilities. I can help with script development, script breakdown, budgeting, storyboard, shot list creation, team building, special effect makeup, casting, location scouting, scheduling shoot days, sending call sheets, camera operating, sound recording, coordinating for on-set production, sound design, and video editing, dialogue editing.
Social Responsibility
I am concerned about racial equality, gender equality, California homeless issues, women's and children's rights, and cross-strait peace. In the future, I will continue learning the society and humanitarian crises in-depth and speaking to the world through art.
Team Player
Filmmaking is a light in my life, and I really enjoy working with a group of filmmakers who are equally passionate about making magic happen. The phase of filmmaking that I enjoy most is working with the team to figure out the best way to move emotionally in storyboarding. I can communicate effectively with other team members. I have a positive attitude, no ego problems, respect and value other members.
Flexabilities
My slogan is "Give me time, and I can help with everything on set." I relied a lot on YouTube tutorials and taught myself filmmaking tech and new gears that was not taught in film school. When I was a student at film school, I help my classmates create SFX makeup, special props, and AE special effect for their film projects. And I am also the producer for most of their films.
